Barcodes

We do not sell barcodes. We issue them to products we manufacture to keep track of stock. These are in the form of EAN (European Article Numbers - the UK standard). Including the barcode on your artwork will also be beneficial to you.

By including a barcode you will be able to sell through many high street retailers, as well as online marketplaces such as Amazon. Each barcode we issue is completely unique, and is only used for one specific product. We can give you an image file of the barcode for you to add to your artwork, or add it ourselves. The image will also include the text "manufactured in the EU by Infallible Duplication".

EAN Barcodes are made up of 13 digits. The first 2 or 3 identify the Country (UK), the next 4 or 5 identify the manufacturer (Infallible Duplication). Country and manufacturer information is only stored on the GS1 (the barcode standards organisation) database, which is not used by retailers.

In practice, the barcode will only refer to the information you provide the retailer with - usually Artist Name, Album Title, Release Date, Parent Label, Sub Label, Format, Selling Price etc. There is no database which holds product information for barcode numbers, so it is up to you to ensure the information provided to retailers is accurate and that the number is not used twice.
